KS1 Sports Day

Ladybirds and Lobsters took part in their Sports Day today. Despite the heat, all of the children did really well. Thank you to parents and carers who came along to support and we hope you can join us tomorrow for our Sports Presentation Assembly at 14:30 in the school hall.

Dorset Games Finals

Four of our year 3 / 4 pupils took part in the Dorset Games Finals yesterday at The Bryanston School. They placed 9th out of all Dorset schools, so a huge congratulations goes to them. We are all very proud of your efforts.

First day of fun at Mill on the Brue

Our year 5 / 6 children enjoyed their first day of fun yesterday in Somerset. They were all "zero heroes" ( zero food waste) last night and ate all of their evening meal! The excitement of being away from home kicked in at bedtime, however everyone is awake and ready for todays adventures.

Worm Sundaes!

This week in Ladybirds Class we have been reading 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson. This afternoon the children wrote their own instructions to explain how to make a worm sundae! After the instructions were written, we had a lot of fun making (and eating) our delicious snack!

Mill on the Brue 2018

Pine Martens left school shortly after 9am this morning to travel to Mill on the Brue in Somerset. They arrived safely just after 11am. After lunch the children will begin their fun packed afternoon of activities.

RSPB Visit

Every class has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of meeting members of the RSPB today. Each class has done a slightly different activity, but every session has helped the children to reflect on how we can look after the environment. Thank you RSPB Team for coming to visit us .... we have learnt a lot!

Rainbow Writing

In Ladybirds we have been working very hard on our writing. The children were challenged today to do some rainbow writing! Every time they wrote a new sentence, they had to change colour. They had to concentrate hard because they were working independently and had to try and remember capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. We are all very proud of our rainbow writing!

30 Days Wild

Ladybirds Class has signed up to take part in the Wildlife Trusts' '30 Days Wild' challenge for the whole of this month. Basically this means we are trying to do at least one activity each day about natural things outdoors. Today we created our own natural art in the Spiritual Garden. We think it looks a bit like a flower. What do you think?
