Hedgehogs class trip to The Etches Collection

Hedgehogs went to The Etches Collection museum of Jurassic marine life on Wednesday 3rd July. They saw Steve Etches Jurassic age fossils and were even lucky enough to ask Steve questions. They used a microscope to look closely at fossils and put a hard hat and glasses on to have a go in the fossil excavation pit. After lunch, we walked down to Kimmeridge to try and find our own fossils. The children were fantastic at finding the correct rock and knew exactly what they were looking for. All of them went home with a bag full of fossils or rocks they wanted to investigate further at home. Avon Heath Country Park

Squirrels class enjoyed their first primary school trip yesterday. Mr Charman took the children to Avon Heath Country Park. They took part in pond dipping with the park ranger, a mini-beast hunt across the meadow and they thoroughly enjoyed the adventure playground. The park ranger complimented the children's behaviour. Well done Squirrels. All of the children enjoyed a warm bath!!

Purbeck Sports Awards

I was very privileged last night to attend The Purbeck Sports Awards to see four of our pupils receive awards for dedication to their sports. The children's awards were presented to them by Thinus Delport, an ex South African rugby player. Well done children, we are all proud of you!

New Barn Continued.....

The children returned to school at 5pm yesterday full of exciting stories about their residential trip to New Barn. As you will see from the photos, a fantastic time was had by all. We are truly grateful to the staff for giving the children such a memorable experience.

New Barn Day 1

Our year 5/6 children arrived at a very warm and sunny New Barn yesterday morning. The children participated in a fire lighting session in the afternoon followed by a BBQ in the evening.
