We had our monthly Good Work Assembly this week and we loved being able to share our learning with parents and friends from the community. Our first 'Class Star' certificates were given out to some very deserving children and every class had the opportunity to share all their hard work. We even met Fred the Frog when Squirrels Class shared what they have been learning in Phonics!
This year, we have begun a project with the charity 'Trees for Dorset'. Foxes Class spent one day this week with the team and had the opportunity to learn an awful lot about seed, fruits, berries and trees. During the morning, they pulled on their wellies and went walking in the local area. The afternoon was spent drawing some of their findings in detail and also planting some seeds. Thank you to 'Trees for Dorset' for giving us such a fantastic and educational day!
We were thrilled to welcome C.S.Clifford into our school yesterday. He kept both children and adults absolutely spellbound as he read aloud some stories to us. He also led writing workshops in the Key Stage 2 classes and children were given the opportunity to do their own independent writing. We regularly celebrate the children's academic achievements in school. However, we always like to recognise activities that the pupils take part in out of school hours. This week we are congratulating two pupils for their participation in a dance show. Well done girls!!
Badgers Class enjoyed their first Recorder Lesson on Wednesday afternoon. We have now completed the process of electing Prefects and School Councillors. I am confident that each of the children selected will take great pride in their roles and that they will be fantastic role models for the other children.

This week Badger's have had fun starting their topic the 'Terrible Tudors!' They have been designing a Tudor rose emblem for King Henry VII, which combined the red rose of the House of Lancaster and the white rose of the House of York.
