Clues were left as to who it might be.....snowy footprints, that did not match Mr Charman`s - the children checked ! A hoof-print and reindeer droppings (allegedly) were found and the children insisted on checking the rest of the school !
As a school we very much enjoy being part of the community and the children thrive on taking part in community events. On Wednesday our Badgers and Owls classes sung Christmas Carols in two village locations.
The Christmas card production line has been up and running this week along with angels, Christmas dominoes and the like. You may have spotted some Christmas elves hanging onto our fence to ! Here`s hoping we have been good enough this year and he visits us !
Foxes class entered a John Lewis Bringing skills to life Christmas project. They came up with some fantastic designs and they all received a participation certificate. Molly's design particularly impressed the judges and her artwork has now been displayed in the John Lewis store in Branksome. Molly went to the store this week to collect a winners certificate, her own personal prize and a prize of a new Yamaha keyboard for our school. Well done Molly and thank you John Lewis f
On Monday our year 4 / 5 children experienced life as Tudors. They enjoyed a banquet consisting of roast chicken, soup and homemade bread. The children also made pomanders, attempted Tudor style writing and embraced Tudor dancing. A fantastic day was had by all and I would like to thank the children and the parents for all of the effort that went into the costumes and for the contributions donated towards our Tudor day.
This week our football team received an entire new football kit kindly donated by parents of children at our school. I'm sure you'll agree that the children look incredibly smart in their new kit and it certainly boosted their confidence when playing against Sandford Primary School. Although we lost 3 - 2 the children played well as a team and Mr Crabb, our football coach was very proud of their performance. Well done!
Yesterday Owls class held an Ancient Greece Banquet. We came in dressed up and enjoyed making and tasting Greek foods. This week we have also been learning about the heart and how it functions and yesterday we furthered that knowledge by dissecting pigs hearts.
We've been very busy in Squirrels preparing for Christmas. The Teapot Ladies joined us in school to make Christingles with each child and we've performed our Nativity Story. Needless to say the excitement for the big day is building!
Thank you to everybody who came to support Squirrels Class as they performed the nativity story. I am sure you will agree that they should be incredibly proud of themselves! From enthusiastic singing to confident speaking, excellent acting and super smiles, this year's show had everything!
