Every Friday we celebrate lots of areas of school life and give out a number of certificates. Today we had some new certificates of achievement to give out relating to Forest Schools. Well done everybody!
What a way to finish a week: den building in forest school , and we just had to test how waterproof they were whilst children were inside! The very next day we had our first outing to the woods looking for signs of the season. As well as seeing berries, sheep , fungi and bear poo, apparently. If that wasn`t enough as soon as we got back the classroom turned into a kitchen and we made leaf shaped shortbread . The children have been so good this week they can have next week of
Forest school this week found us hunting for acorns, testing them to see which ones were most likely to grow, before each of us planted two acorns in a pot and a daffodil bulb in the spiritual garden. Ask your child how to check if an acorn is likely to grow !
A week of firsts for Oak Class : our small world area became the Oak-Harris Farm which opened for business for the first time this week. As you can see we are growing carrots on the farm ! It was also a first in PE as we had larger equipment to jump off which we did with much gusto ! For the first time we had scarecrows in the classrooms.... ...enjoy the photographs.
In wellies, we went on a spider web hunt around school this morning. We loved finding all sorts of webs covered in morning dew. Obviously the best webs were by Reception ! Strangely we saw no spiders; they might have heard us coming ! We did not scare off the large moth though. Perhaps it was worried about being caught in a web ?
