Chestnut Class Topic Visit

Mr Nick Parry a friend of mine who has a passion for war memorabilia and telling stories kindly visited Chestnut class with a large collection of WW11 items: German, English and Australian hats, rifles, a huge range of uniforms, maps made of rice paper and silk and medals.

The pupils were told all sorts of fascinating facts about the Germans and the English and the pupils loved to share their own stories too about their relatives. They were then given the opportunity to examine and try on the items - some of their feedback was: this was the best day ever - I have learnt so much. It's so nice to have visitors to bring our learning to life.

Thanks to Mr Parry!
