Experience Easter
Last week the children enjoyed visiting the Church of the HolyRood for Experience Easter.
The children started off in the Church then went outside to Station 1, Gethsemane where they heard the story of Jesus’ arrest. The children took a stone from a cairn and laid them down in a circle and have a time of reflection.
Station 2 was the Courtyard, the children heard the story of Peter betraying Jesus and the children took a twig and place it in the lit fire pit.
Station 3, Golgotha, the children went to see 3 crosses and heard about the two who were crucified with Jesus. The children made a cross out of natural materials.
Station 4 The Garden Tomb – the children constructed a tomb and heard the story of the resurrection. The children scattered wildflower seeds around the war graves a symbol of new life.
