Service Premium

The Government provides Service Pupil Premium (SPP) funding to schools to support children from Service families. This funding recognises that military life can sometimes present additional challenges for children, such as parental deployment, frequent moves, transitions between schools, or periods of separation from loved ones. The funding is intended to help schools provide pastoral and emotional support to ensure every Service child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and socially.

At Wool CE Primary, we are committed to understanding and supporting the needs of our Service children and their families. We work closely with parents, carers and the wider military community to ensure that children feel valued, supported and connected throughout their time with us.

One of the ways we provide this support is through our links with Little Troopers, a charity dedicated to supporting military children. Through these connections, we are able to access resources and opportunities that help children understand and navigate the unique aspects of Service life.

In addition, we work with the Army Welfare team to run some drop in sessions for parents/carers in service families.

We celebrate the important role that our Service families play in our school community and are committed to ensuring that every child feels supported, understood and proud of their connection to the Armed Forces. Together, we foster a strong sense of belonging, resilience and community that benefits all of our pupils.
