Hedgehogs class trip to The Etches Collection

Hedgehogs went to The Etches Collection museum of Jurassic marine life on Wednesday 3rd July. They saw Steve Etches Jurassic age fossils and were even lucky enough to ask Steve questions.

They used a microscope to look closely at fossils and put a hard hat and glasses on to have a go in the fossil excavation pit. After lunch, we walked down to Kimmeridge to try and find our own fossils. The children were fantastic at finding the correct rock and knew exactly what they were looking for.

All of them went home with a bag full of fossils or rocks they wanted to investigate further at home. In the classroom, we have continued to identify fossils and we have lots of future palaeontologists in the class!
