On Tuesday Chestnut Class walked to Holy Rood Church to lay a poppy wreath at the war memorial in memory and respect for all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in conflict. As we are learning about World War 2 it was a great link to help the children see how we continue to remember those who have died not just in the First and Second World Wars, but more recent wars too. It provoked some interesting discussion and the children were well-behaved and respectful.
